Your tree gift will live on and honor the departed for generations. It will also support the Rockford Park District’s efforts to reforest the Forest City.

A tree is a unique and thoughtful way to honor a loved one and allow their memory to live on. The trees are placed in areas that have been devastated by disease and storms, so your gift will make a lasting difference in our community.

$50 Package

Your Memorial Tree Gift Includes:

🌳 The planting of one tree in one of the Rockford Park District’s parks

🌳 A personalized tree planting certificate

🌳 Your gift recipient’s name and yours recorded in the Rockford Park District Foundation’s Annual Report

  • The above package does not include a bronze marker.

  • The Rockford Park District will plant trees each year in parks where they are most needed. The above tree package does not include identifying exact location of the tree.

$100 Package

Your Memorial Tree Gift Includes:

🌳 The planting of 5 trees in one of the Rockford Park District’s parks

The Park District staff will work with you to determine park and tree location. Final location and specific type and size of tree will be determined by staff. Not all tree choices and parks are available at all times. The location is dependent on needs of individual parks, and planning processes that may already be underway.

$2,000 Package

Additional Information

  • Trees may be requested at any time, but installation will take place twice annually. The deadline for Spring planting is May 15. The deadline for Fall planting is October 15.

  • The intent of the Park District is to maintain these trees for their entire life span, but longevity of plants varies by species and environmental conditions.

Please Note

  • The Rockford Park District holds ultimate ownership over all memorial trees, and it is prohibited for anyone to decorate, personalize, or add adornment to any tree.
